For the sixth year running we enjoyed superb views over the start of the boat races from our Victorian-style drawing room on the first floor of an elegant Grade II listed building. With a three-course meal, our own bar, a television and excellent company, what more could we ask for? Well, four victories would have topped it all off! To date this remains one aspect of the occasion we have yet to perfect. We are working on it, of course! Meanwhile, we contented ourselves with two out of four victories, thanks to assured performances from our women – the first and reserve boats crossing the finishing line with 11 and 13 length leads respectively.
