What motivated you to join the committee?
I joined the committee because I work from home full time and it can be quite isolating. The committee gives me an excuse to come into London (I live in Essex) and see people in 3D.
How do you feel CamSocLon benefits its members?
The society gives its members the opportunity to go and try things they might not otherwise do. I’ve danced at the Cafe de Paris, done flower arranging in Covent Garden and been to a Networking event in Canary Wharf. How diverse is that?!!
What hobbies or interests do you pursue in your spare time?
I am still ballroom dancing after learning in the University Ballroom Dancing club – I still have the t-shirt!
Can you share a story about a fellow alum who has inspired you or made a significant impact on your life?
Astrophysics Professor Hiranya Peiris inadvertantly introduced me to my husband whilst we were undergrads at New Hall. Thanks!
Can you share a surprising fact about yourself that most people might not know?
I got married on the pirate ship outside of Treasure Island casino in Las Vegas
