We had a really lovely evening at Drake & Morgan on Thursday night with around 30 people from the group. It had that nice feeling where some people had known each other for years, others were meeting for the first time, but nobody really felt like an outsider. Lots of conversations about films, exhibitions, work, random life stuff – the kind of night where you keep meaning to leave and then end up talking for another hour. Also confirmed once again that loud London bars somehow force better conversations because everyone has to lean across the table and repeat themselves! By around eleven nobody seemed in a rush to leave. People were making plans that sounded genuine rather than polite, and I think that’s usually the sign of a good night.
