Amidst the historic setting of our Suite in the Tavern Stand of Lord’s Cricket Ground, members and guests gathered for a day of cricketing excitement at the 2023 Varsity Matches. The air buzzed with anticipation as attendees settled into their seats, ready to witness the thrill of the Twenty20 matches unfold on the hallowed Main Ground.
In a stunning display of skill and determination, Cambridge emerged victorious in the men’s match, clinching victory with a score of 176/3 in 18.4 overs against Oxford’s 175/5 in 20 overs. The cheering and celebrations echoed throughout the suite as Cambridge supporters reveled in the team’s triumph.
After lunch the rain spoiled play in the women’s match, resulting in a tie with both Cambridge and Oxford at 36/2 in 7 overs and 111/5 in 20 overs respectively, a fun day of play despite the weather’s interference.
Throughout the day, attendees enjoyed the comforts of our private suite, with dedicated Lord’s staff catering to their every need with a selection of refreshments. We eagerly anticipate next year’s spectacle at our beloved Lord’s Suite.
