Last Saturday 30 of us met in Chiswick for a guided tour of the Fuller’s Brewery, producer of the famous London Pride bitter. We learned about the brewing process, Fuller’s business and how carefully beers have to be managed once in the pub’s cellar to ensure quality. Cask ales, which are stored in unpressurised barrels are the most sensitive (recognisable in the pub because they are hand-pumped) and so are not exported other than to one pub in northern Finland where the landlord is apparently a fan!

The site still contains a number of the old brewing vessels retained but no longer used as legacy equipment.

The tour concluded with a session in the on-site bar where we enjoyed sampling the full range of Fuller products.
