On Friday 28th April members of the Cambridge Society tested their detection skills with a treasure hunt around Tower Hill and Wapping set by Blue Badge Tourist Guide Caroline Piper. They showed a great sense of direction, good observation skills and a healthy amount of competitive spirit. Caroline was thrilled they all solved her favourite clue and found “the street named after very, very angry people” ie Seething Lane.

Final scores were as follows (this includes minus points for those who overran the allocated time of 1hr 30 mins):

Lanxi & Paul = 31 points
Ash & TK = 33 points
Dave & Angela = 35 points
Sharon & Eryl = 38 points
Phil & Patricia= 39 points
Karanvir & Sarikar = 40 points

3 teams were affected by the unexpected closure of a small part of the route. After time adjustments to compensate (and including some negative points Caroline still strictly applied!) their scores were:

Jackie & John = 26 points
Dina, Laurent & Yu She = 32 points
Georgia & Hollister = 42 points

But the winners were Ruth & Chris with a staggering 48 points + 5 bonus points for completing the course fastest (in a super speedy 1 hour 22 mins) = total 53 points!!

In typical British style they were chuffed to win, but ever so embarrassed when Caroline announced it to the whole pub!
