We went east for the Fanakapan to Fairey walk to learn about the development of Shoreditch and Spitalfields as an international centre of street art. We saw how street art, with its hallmark humour, social comment and ephemeral nature, has gone from being an underground movement to being adopted by global brands and corporations such as Gucci, Nike and Universal Studios, with the artists themselves crossing over from the street to community work and fine art which sells in Christie’s auction house.
The tours are excellent opportunities to explore different areas and aspects of London while enjoying conversations with fellow members.
